new year, new daily project! 10-min-portraits day 001 johnny depp

happy new year, best wishes and so on~ :D

i decided to do a new daily project that also leads to daily blogging again.

new year, new luck.

let's see how it works this time haha.

last year, i managed to fill almost two sketchbooks in 62 days that resulted into 27 blog posts.

ehrm... the sketching worked way better than the blogging part.

this year i'm going to do little 10-minute-paintings (ca. din a6) of various people.

why? because i love doing portraits but still need a lot of practise.

for starters, i'm always going to use some kind of reference.

so let's paint!

day 001
01/01/2012

johnny depp / acrylics / 10min each

reference: the many faces of johnny depp

click it! it's hilarious xD

any suggestions who i should paint over the next few days?

feel free to tell me because i have no idea at all! :D

'cause i'm so bad at remembering and recognizing names and faces *cough*

onwards onwards onwards!!

see ya guys next year! :D

random crappy sketchy old self-portrait.

and i have no clues whatsoever when it comes to fonts.

so do forgive me.

WiP project: potatoes and self-portraits

something i'm currently working on for uni - this is just the upper half of an din a2 sized sheet of paper. there's nothing more to show at the moment :D

i love doing self-portraits - i love doing portraits in general. but it's still really hard to draw portraits that actually resemble the portrayed person... gaaah need to practise. practise practise practise.

as for my pretty potato head... the proportions are even weirder in reality. i just fail at carving heads out of potatoes, wahahaa.

hope you all had a merry christmas!

i'm gonna start blogging again, i think.

so... cheerio! see ya :D

(small) blog update feat. random old sketches

Hello, my dear followers,

this blog has been deeply neglected during the past 6 months.

This is going to change. I think. Maybe. Oh whatever.

For starters, here's a small update with random old sketches that somehow made their way into my last daily sketchbook for my portfolio.

(@brainy specs: IT'S YOUR TURN :P)
